Have you ever seen a rooftop garden or a green living wall? How about a fence or railing made from sustainably harvested sources? What about a bamboo floor made from the type of bamboo that grows up to six feet per day? You may have witnessed one of the millions of buildings that are now made with sustainability in mind.
The World Green Building Council aims to get to the point where all buildings will be built that way. They look at all the major issues the world is facing today such as climate change and figure out ways the infrastructure can become a part of the solution.
With 700 staff members and 35,000 volunteers, there is a lot of good work being done. Over 300,000 people have been trained on how to incorporate green building into their plans. There are currently over 1 million square meters of green registered space around the world, and the number only continues to grow.
Over 3000,000 people trained to incorporate green buildings in their plans. The future for green buildings is looking bright and I am so glad. The world will look a little greener again, thanks to institutions like The World Green Building Council.
