These days, it seems like every aspect of our lives is dominated by the word efficient. We have to be more efficient at work so that we can stay ahead of the game. We have to be more efficient while doing errands and chores so that we have more time to ourselves. We need to be energy efficient to save electricity. The things we buy should be efficiently packaged so that we can reduce waste. The list goes on and on. One area that can be incredibly difficult to be efficient in is food. How often do you buy a ton of produce and have it go bad before you finish it off? And how many types of food do you have to get rid of when you go on those periodic refrigerator binges?

Sometimes food goes bad faster because it’s not in the ideal environment–perhaps the temperature is too low or the humidity is too high. Making sure that your refrigerator is being used efficiently could save you a great deal of money on food, as well as reduce the amount of food waste you produce.
