We’ve been hurting the planet for so long that the idea of trying to change our environment now often seems like too little, too late. The daunting task hasn’t deterred many organizations from trying, however. Worldwide there are thousands of environmental nonprofits, research on new energy sources, countries reducing their carbon footprint, companies implementing new sustainability programs, clean-up campaigns, and even regular citizens deciding to compost. We want to recognize the people who are working, slowly or quickly, on a large or small scale, to make our planet a little greener.
